Lowdown renders markdown as HTML5, as roff documents in the ms, man and mdoc
formats, as LaTeX, gemtext, flat OpenDocument or ANSI terminal output, and
the lowdown-diff companion, which compares two markdown files and renders the
difference in any of those formats.

Beyond the original Markdown syntax, lowdown adds autolinking, fenced code,
tables, footnotes, smart typography, metadata, definition lists, task lists
and admonitions.

The library behind the two commands is installed as well, as a shared object
under its own soname, a static archive, the lowdown.h header and a lowdown.pc
file, so other programs can render markdown without running lowdown.
